1. Introduction

SOFTSIM is a communication and knowledge managment tool for enterprise software development. This system is derived from NSF project. It can support software requirement analysis and change management through business process automation, knowledge management, software simulation, and social network analysis.  

2. Features

The following are the key features of SOFTSIM in a nutshell:

  • Support both collaboration and coordination.
  • Knowledge managment functions such as document managment, expert recommendation, knowledge retirevial are embeded in the business process.
  • Able to easily work with multiple projects at the same time.
  • A large and growing repository of business processes and knowledge transfer tasks to use out of the box.
  • Extensible, with the ability to easily write plugins in Java or scripting languages.
  • Model based development: Communication and knowledge management are decribed based on the business process model.

The SOFTSIM-Beta version has been released. You can download it here .

SOFTSIM is distributed under the  GNU General Public License .
